What we do

Welcome to Hampshire IT Solutions, a non-statutory NHS organisation hosted by NHS Hampshire serving a number of NHS trusts across Hampshire.  We provide core IT services to our stakeholders and work in partnership to contribute to their business objectives through imaginative application of information technology.

A brief history

The Hampshire HIS was formed on 6 September 2010 through the merger of the North and Mid Hampshire HIS (NMH HIS) and Southampton ICT Shared Services (SISS). The merger was necessary following the withdrawal from NMH HIS by Basingstoke and North Hampshire Foundation Trust (BNHFT), who were keen to follow models successfully employed by a number of other acute trusts in recognition of their differences when compared with community providers who operate across a much wider geographical area.

Since then the Hampshire HIS has been working hard to consolidate the former HIS's technologies and procedures and our recent renaming to Hampshire IT Solutions (25 July 2011) is the next step in our journey to alignment with our customers' future needs.
